Common Mistakes When Outsourcing Customer Service

July 10, 2017

Don’t Make These Mistakes

When mistakes are made, we tend to learn from them. We at mindStart enjoy sharing our insights we encounter when hearing about why people make the switch to our company from the competition. Below are some of the most common mistakes people make when selecting an outsourced customer service center.

Only Focusing On Cost

When people tend to only focus on the lowest-cost option available, or even a somewhat lower cost option when compared to the competition, they’ll often find what they saved in the short-term was spent again later on while searching for a new, better group to handle their outsourced customer service after having a negative experience. The old saying “you get what you pay for” really does ring true within the outsourced customer service world. We’re not saying to automatically choose the most expensive option, but we’re also saying don’t be extremely frugal either. Find a nice happy medium and go from there.

Not Researching

Doing your due diligence is not only something you should do when investigating which outsourced customer service solution is best for you, but something you should do in all facets of life. When asserting a prospective company for your customer service needs, seek out reputable reviews, blog posts regarding their service, and a BBB rating. All of these factors will allow you to choose the best company for your needs.

Not Going With Your Gut

Going with your gut is an integral instinct which is hard to explain but if you’re receiving bad vibes from a company, there is most likely a good reason. When you go with your instincts, you’re placing trust in yourself, your business, and ultimately your livelihood. Be true to yourself and only work with companies whom give off good vibes.
